The main goal is to attract more students to astronomy and science in general.

The first school sessions were successful. During classes partisipants observed the moon through galileo telescopes, and the students were full of admiration. But a better telescope was very welcome. Hence the decision to provide an SSVI Bresser Messier AR 90/900 refractor for Sudan. This will be done in spring 2021.

Sterren Schitteren Voor Iedereen is realised by the Amateur Telescope Making group (Kijkerbouw) of the UGent Public Observatory Armand Pien and the Department Physics and Astronmy if the University Ghent.
This initiative takes place in collaboration with Euro Space Society, Universe Awareness and IAU.
